Thumbs up Heintz Racing does it again!!

Well, as some of you know, I took the Goat up to Heintz a month or so ago to have the car completely gone over for the, now re-scheduled, East Coast Shootout in Darlington. While she was there we addressed a few things (as is always the case whenever I take her up there ). As most of you know, I originally fought pushing water at the HG's until we o-ringed the block and heads. The downside to that is that the copper HG sealant had starts to give up over time and you will start to see some coolant "leakage"/"dripping" after letting the car sit after being run (normal with copper gaskets and double o-rings).

This time we tried something different though. We pulled the heads and had them milled and o-ring removed. We left the block o-ringed and installed some LS9 HG's. And after talking with ARP added a bit more torque to the head studs. Well, so far so good.

After Phil (I call him the magician) finished the pump gas tune he saw we were maxing out the injs (by the way we made almost 100rwhp more on pump gas this visit...but we'll get to the graphs in a minute). So, we pulled the 80lb'ers out and put in some ID 1000's and went ahead and upped the base pressure from 43 to 60 on the Magnafuel pump. Needless to say, I have more than enough fuel now.

Phil also noticed a little dip in the graph at 6k rpm. It was not tune related and after they discussed it the decision was made to put in a set of 1209x PAC vlv springs. Well, again, Heintz made the right call. Made an improvement throughout the entire pull.

All this being said, I continue to be fully, and OVERLY, impressed with Jeff, Zach, Bob, and the Tuner Phil (again...the magician). And I would also like to mention Jered Gall of G-Engines. He built my motor and does all the machine work whenever the car goes up there. I've never felt completely secure with a shop and it's associated individuals until now. The guys at Heintz Racing are absolutely top notch. Period. Hands down. No questions asked. I can't recommend them strongly enough to anyone looking for an honest, reliable, and fully capable shop.

Now, on to the good stuff...as you know the last time the car was up at Heintz it put down 760/754 @ 14psi/14deg timing on 93 pump gas and 917/947 @ 18psi/22deg timing on 110 gas. Well, this time we bettered that...by just a tad

This time around with their new tuner Phil (who again, I cannot stress this enough, is a gdam* magician) they managed to pull and SAE corrected 850/815 @ 15.5psi/15deg timing on 93 pump gas and 961/954 @ 19psi (I'll double check on the timing). Uncorrected she put down 888/851 and 1001/994 respectively!!! Three words immediately come to mind...NEED MORE TIRE!!! It was bad enough with 760rwhp on the street! Sheesh.

First pic shows the old pump vs. race graph

Second pic are the new #'s (UNCORRECTED)

Third pic is new #'s SAE Corrected

And then a pic of mine and Jonathan's Goats waiting for pick up from Heintz

408 Iron (JE, callies)/TEA 245cc heads
RPM lvl V 4l80e
APS TT kit w/ LG turbos / Turbowerx pump

We're actually looking to do the wife's TBSS next. Looking at doing a whipple/cam/trans etc. later this year. I have to get a cage in my car first though. It's just not worth the risk w/o one.

ARP 7/16 standard studs. Torqued at 90ft/lb. We have had pretty good results with the LS9s and standard ARPs on my old car at this torque also. Sealing a stock 799 head with 26 psi.
