Default power adder advice

I have a 408 n/a Lq9 11.5.1 comp motor with good internals. Was interested in a turbo or supercharger set up just wasn't sure if it was possible with my current set up. What are my options? Thanks for any advice! More concerned with my compression.

Anyone? Is it possible to do a turbo or a supercharger with 11.5.1 comp?

Yes, it is possible (even preferred) with the right fuel.

With right fuel setup and fuel it self you can definately do it. Ill preffer a blower setup on that motor.

11.5:1 + Boost = Good. Run E85 or E98, and get a GOOD tune. 88mm Plus or even the S480 ETR.

it would leave less room for error, but then again there really is no room to begin with. itll will be insane with some good fuel.

111 octane
or the ethanol fuels ---as already suggested.

Gt91 turbo with 1.23ar and the 97mm turbine from forced inductions. That's my vote

That would be a sick ride! I plan on taking this advice and start putting together a set up. Anyone know where I should start to look?

I would start by finding a turbo like the one i posted on forcedinductions.com. Its $1600 and is perfect size for your 408. Then i would have someone like Martin at tick spec you a cam. Then get a new converter. I went through ptc and it was $450 for them to build me one. Then buy all the other stuff like hot/cold pipe, wastegate, bov, etc.

Start small with the boost. With that compression you are going to see incredible power gains from even very low amounts of boost.

I would like to be around 1000 rwhp? I already have on the car a turbo 400 a ford 9in with the lq9 block. Idk if it makes a difference but also have a ported 102 set up. I do drag race it at the track around 3-4 times a year and mess with a lot of local street racers. Again thanks for the help!

Yeah i would definitely go with the gt91. It will easily be capable of 1k rwhp and leave room to grow if you want. I think with your combo it'll spool like a 70mm on a stock 5.3 lol

Should I use a intercooler? Or does that gt91 come in a kit?

Not trying to cut in, but why is it that everyone is telling me to keep comp ratio around 9.5 for my turbo build? I'll be running e85 also.

Nitto 99, if you want a turbo kit with the hot and cold piping, downpipe, and intercooler with brackets and alt relocate bracket check out Hurron Speed.

Its just the Turbo. You will need the Hot and Cold Side, as well as the Blow Off Valve(s) and Wastegate(s). Yes you should run an Intercooler, The Chiseled Performance 1300HP Unit would be nice, if you don't have the coin an eBay 31x12x4" would work.

I thought the same thing about the comp but someone local told me that I could run a turbo with my set up. So that's why I had to ask you guys if that was true. So now I'm happy happy!
