I got the Alky Control kit waiting to be installed. The plan is to run 100% meth w/ my F1A. Just looking for some extra safety to keep everything together.

Julio being local (Tampa) also helped with the decision.

Like I said, I researched this alot, it's what I do for a living, research. I'm a scientist, and I like details, facts and after reading about all of the kits, I went with the Aquamist. I researched them, and they've been doing this for quite some time in europe with the rally cars running massive amounts of boost and they have to rely on the quality of the components.

The Alky control kit has some ugly *** brass fittings....you cant make them look good either and that what keeps me from getting one. Devils own has some really nice fittings (braided hose) and I've used and installed both kits...

for cheap wads like me reading this and wanting water injection,

you can put your own together for $150.

the only difference would be the shure pump they use is 150 psi, and the shure pump you'll buy is 60 psi.

i know someone who is doing this right now running 5.60s on 93 pump gas, with a home made water meth system

What is the basic setup of that kit? Check valve with a Hobbs switch to a relay to kick on the pump, or a relay for the pump and a solenoid for the flow?

Also, where do they get good atomizing nozzles? I *think* that is one area where the manufacturers of the kits have invested some development resources. Of course, you can buy the nozzles from them....

hobbs switch to activate/deactivate.

I dont believe(I could be wrong) that these guys manufacture their own nozzles. Mcmaster sells nozzles a variety of nozzles

fittings from ebay,
line from lowes/homedepot
tank for autozone
pump from northern tools

its actually pretty straightforward.

So is this correct:

HFS2 is basic no/failsafe,
HFS3 has failsafe,
HFS4 is for DI engines

They also claim plug-and-play, but I see no images or descriptions of maybe a pigtail or something to get IPW and RPM data into a HFSx controller?

I plan to move to a direct port setup later this year.
Tell me more about this direct port. Assume it is nozzles in the intake runners like a NOS kit? Any pics?

I plan to run mine through the nitrous ports in my FAST intake.

Here's my buddy's setup on his 5-series.

So you run a main line into the manifold, then take equal lengths off it to each smaller sized nozzle.

They make different manifolds, here's the one for a v-8.

If your going to use straight meth.. treat it like a fuel system and use protected lines and fittings that can stay wetted.

If your going to use washer fluid or something non-flammable, use the plastic lines.

Dont use the unprotected plastic lines with straight meth.. if a line pops off.. you'll torch your car down.

Aluminum fittings cannot be used with methanol. Yeah they're pretty.. but rot.. then leak.

Just saying..

I like the spec's on the Aquamist system, but the manual states:
"Warning: Prolonged use of 100% methanol may cause premature pump failure and may not be covered under warranty."

Page 9 http://howertonengineering.com/wp-co...9/HFS3v2w1.pdf

That doesn't sound like it's built for 100% methanol, 100% of the time. You have to wonder with a name like Aquamist if the system's not geared towards water.
