Default Weak Point on Stock LS1 with FI?

What exactly is the weak point on a stock LS1 with FI? The hyper pistons? The rods, crank, and block seem to be able to take a ton of power but nevertheless there are failures on a stock LS1 bottom end.

The rods are the first to go, and the pistons will not survive a miss on the tune up with big power.

Piston ringlands. High boost makes the rings touch because of the heat...

That's why a lot of guys gap the stock rings and add arp rod bolts while your down there..

Agreed. Pistons & rings will go before rods in most cases.

At what psi or hp level are rods failing? A really good tune is really important from what I have read here to piston life for stock pistons

Yea that's why I went H/C first. I really didn't want to have an engine failure.

generally you cant make enough power n/a to hurt the motor unless you are spinning to the moon.

The weakest point seems to be the pistons because this is where the most people are seeing failures. This is usually due to an off tune though and things got a lil out of whack and popped the ringland.

BUT if your tune is on, the rods will bend before a piston will break, which is probably where im heading because im going for more power this year.

600Rwhp is usually the point where it is just a matter of time for most.

This is the most quality reply in here, someone with real experience and knowledge of making stock shortblocks live at big power and knowing when they will fail and what will fail.

Ring gap isn't the problem, the TUNE IS THE PROBLEM. Not sure how many times us guys who make them live have to say this to people and they still don't get it.
