Knowing the truck went 6.80@105 on 12psi(IIRC), it will be cool to see where it ends up@21psi. I'm going to guess 6.30's-6.40's@110mph.
Might be a little quicker than that. Same turbo on 6.0L way less cam, and truck intake went 6.0x@117, 4800 lbs There was a 5.xx in it but the tracks out here are ******.
900RWHP SAE with 76mm went 6.2/112 @4850 lbs.

Are you still running GT76 in the truck or you switched to S400?

Anyone know how good the S480/83 will be with 3" DP and 3" cutout compared to 4" DP/4" muffler/4" pipe to the rear of the truck.

I just ordered the S480/83 for my truck to replace Magnum T76BB and might keep my 3" DP/3" muffler/3" pipe to rear and just put a 3" cut out after the DP right under the passenger.

Also, woundering at what rpm the S480/83 will start making boost on 5.7L engine A4/3400 stall?

Even if it chokes a little it will definitely outpower a Magnum turbo...lol. Boost should be around 3000-3300 full in. Alot depends on tuning and cam profile.

I will be swapping to Isky triple 12 cam. 3000-3300 will be great with my 3400 TC.

I swithed to a S480 last fall. Same exact turbo as Mr Foose has iirc. These things really come on after 18 psi of boost.

Do you see S480/83 spooling much earlier than S480/92 or it's in the top end where it differs.

I opted for S480/83 for earlier spool and because I don't plan to go higher than 18psi.

I don't think a 83mm turbine has enough ***** for the S480 compressor. I would have gone a S475 or 76 with that turbine. The 80/92 actually will spool quicker imo because more turbine leverage.

I was told it comes standard with 83 housing and is available with upgraded 92mm housing for extra $350.

I thought smaller hosuing 83mm should spool faster than 92mm on same engine!!

I still can order the 92mm housing, though.

I don't want to clutter up Robs thread with this be better to start a new one. The S480/92 likes 18-25 psi of boost on 5.7-6.0L. The 75/83 works really well in the 16 psi range.

Agree. It's the wheel rather than the housing.

I haven't said the cam specs once in this thread.....

Sneaky sneaky...

I've learned to shoot low and let the results make me look good LOL! I think if Rob would of shifted the truck at 7000rpm on his 12psi passes it probably would of picked up a lot just in that aspect.

I would call a 7000rpm shift point, possibly 7200rpm shift point golden on this set-up. Should fall right back into the meat of the power curve.

Can't wait to see this thing on boost only at 20+psi....it's gonna be nasty.

Getting closer my 9's guys, she needed a 60 tonight and i'd had my goal. Still low boost at 19, last past hit 20psi on the shifts. No bottle. Also need to let it eat some, was shifting all night at around 6200-6300, I agree with Martin it needs to see 6500+. Anyways, new bests on all boost ET & MPH, plus made it home.

I think I can get it in the summer South Carolina heat and humidity, just need a solid pass. Tonight with only 10 or so cars running because of the rain scare, the track didn't want to hold a normal 2-step launch. It hooked the second pass that went 136 but 2step was weak and not enough powa for a solid 60. Anyways, I'll keep at it.

Maybe next time, damn I'm ready to say I built a 9 second truck!

Those are some good runs. I think some good weather should do the trick.

That is just plain awesome Rob. It's making huge power as you said in our text messages to go damn near 110mph in 95* heat and most likely 60-70%+ humidity in a 4580lbs. truck!

You absolutely need to turn this thing 7000rpm on each shift Rob. You aren't going to believe how much it picks up when you do.....

Man that would be solid 8second setup in a 4th gen,3,300lb. Pretty much any car 3,500lbs or less.
