Build questions I am having issue here with what motor to get for my 99 trans am m6 .I was gonna buy a AES 390 and use a novi2200 on it . Now I see lots of people using 4.8 5.3 motors and they are stock . So I did some looken and found a place where I can buy 4.8 5.3 and 6.0 for like 3200 new the hole motor . So I was thinking of doning one of these and save 5 grand . What would u all do buy the 390 and call it a day or go with the cheaper motor . I have 15 grand to spend if this helps but would like not to sppen it all .lol
most buys would rather buy a used 5.3 than a new one for these turbo builds cause if they hurt the motor it is cheap to replace.
I personally wouldn't spend 3200 on a new 5.3 for a FI build

Don't go buy a new 5.3. People buy the used ones because they are super cheap.if you only want 650 wheel, then a super expensive short block really isn't necessary. A stock crank with good rods and pistons will be more than enough.

I was gonna do 9.5-1 and mild cam and of 16psi and hope that I hit my number if I don't I don't , if I do I would be happy . I am sure I will make more than 650 . It is what it is.
