What type of fuel and intercooler? Those are my main concerns

It can be done without problems as long as the combo is designed properly.

Issues can arrise when you want to run pump gas, a lot of boost, have improper tune, subpar fuel setup. Ect ect.

Lots of people have sucess boosting stock ls2's & 3's though.

What is considered a big cam on an 10.5 cmprssn? 224/230 .581/.588 114? Is that considered big or small?

I knew after I typed that that I shot myself in the foot LOL
What I meant by big was bigger than I would normaly use in the aplication. Motor size, turbo size, compression and goals for the combination are some of the main determining factors in cam "size"

To answer your cam question You would need to know all of the above stated information.

Yeah, I jumped on that one. I just swapped to an LQ4 and instead of using the 317 heads I kept my 862's on. Figured it would put the compression around 10.5. I am running twin 70's. The car is street driven and ran hard at the track. My street driving is limited to mostly local driving. Every once in a great while I will make a 3 hr drive. I run E85 also.

Thanks. I figured my cam was just about right for the 6.0 and was probably a little on the big size for my 5.3.

Be careful on pump gas as it sucks to say the least. No e85 around?

Try to get hold of E85 for that LQ9 if boosting. You will need it.
