Default Track advice

Ran last night and my best is 7.8 at 100mph on Hoosiers 335//35 17 at 1/8th track.
I would spin the first few runs. Finally starting hooking at the line than bogging down. My 60s are all 2.0x bogging or spinning. I still get some spin when she gets in peak torque on 1st and 2nd. My questions is I need to focus on coming out the hole better than 2.0s. What are your recommendations to get 1.8s?

Specs
6 speed manual
Spec 3 clutch
Turbo LS2
LCA relocators
Edlebrock torque arm
Lowered 1.5 (I know this doesn't help)
Weighs 3860 with me in it.
Car is mainly an auto x, track day street bruiser.

You gotta practice. specially with a 6 speed car, but With the way your car is set up the only thing I can see is buy a set of 15s and put a real tire on them. Like a 275/60/15 drag radial. That 35 series sidewall on your current tire is gonna do nothing for you.

Consistency will play a big factor, wether ur slowly slipping the clutch or dumping it.

A two step will help keep the rpm the same and all you willl have to do is manage the release of the clutch and shift.

ok dude if i can get a 1.7x 60' with my heavy pig with junk OLD bias ply mickey t 26 inch et streets you can too. trust me... my track is no better then yours.. they cater only to the big tire race cars so the prep is **** to say the least. ****!

how are you coming off the line? i know with my car i had to slip the clutch quite a bit for two reasons, help keep the rpms up to get the turbo to spool and secondly if i would dump the clutch i dont have the suspension to take that shock and make the tires hook.. make sure you are heating the tires enough as well. Also like recommended get a 2 step.. it will spool your turbo and allow you to just put your foot to the floor and just work the clutch off the line. i ended up getting a 2 step and it did make it a lot easier. you can see how hard i was slipping it in this video and it left the line decent but no traction mid track at 18 psi haha

trust me dude, you can get there easily just practice. i probably have the shittiest track prep in the north east..

Thanks. I'll get the 2 step for now and practice.
I'm going to stay with dumping the clutch, or do you think slipping is better?

You need a set of slicks with a 6 speed. 28" tall stiff wall is a good option, hope you have a strong rear end. If you can't run a 28" tall tire a 26" bias ply will still help a ton.

1.5X 60' here. 3800+lb's. My setup:

295/50/16 M/T's on stock wheels, tires set at ~20psi
KYB Adjustable shocks that everyone hates.Fronts full loose, rears set at half
panhard/TA/LCA's with relocations
3.50 rear gear in the 9"
Stock swaybar intact
2 step set at 4k
slip clutch and go.

You will NEVER cut a good 60' without a 2 step and preferrably a real tire on it.

These guys are all putting you on the correct track. Only thing I can add maybe is check into a WOT box? No lift shifting and has a 2 step built in. The guy will build you whatever it is that you ask him for. Super awesome guy. www.n2mb.com

im of the opinion that the clutch/hydraulics are the limiting factor in power shifting. cutting the ignition during the shift isnt going to help if they arent up to the task, and if they are you dont need to cut the ignition. again just my opinion
