Build Thread: Project K.K (aka:Kim Kardashian) 1937 Dodge Coupe
#23
Figured I would do a little update on the build...
I finally received my motor from AES on August 4th ..still waiting for the build sheet, but I've given up on them. I'm probably just going to take it to my local builder to get the new motor “freshened up”
Crank just sitting on blocks
open holes when shipped
intake bolts not even finger tight...wonder what else is loose
a lot of rust for a new block
you would think for a $2500 oil system you would a least get all of the fittings
They love the silicone
Got the motor in it's home....
just one small problem
If someone wants a set of billet valve covers...just let me know
Problem fixed with a new set of valve covers.
Next I had to get the Cold side done...bought some elbows and started piecing things together with 3” first but had to back down to 2.5 going into a 4” but it finally came together. I just have to do a little sanding and polishing on it. The zip tie clamps are totally custom...
Next was to try and get all of the front accessory drives to fit in the small area that I have....It took me a couple of weekends of staring at it, but I think I have it solved.
I used an alternator mount for BBC and CS121 alternator from powermaster
The water pump and pulleys came from Jones Racing Products. Great company to deal with...The first belt was a little tight so they made me a pulley and sent me a another belt with out charging me and just asked me to send back what I don't use.
and I rigged up a mount for a waterman belt drive. I may add a rod end going to the small 8mm bolt going to the frame rail just to be sure.
More silicone from AES, they love the stuff...
Shifter mount with a little extra on the front to mount the cup holders.
I also got the computer and dash that I got from Joe @ Hyperaktive mounted.
Now I just have to fit a radiator, plumb the fuel system, and start wiring....

Where is AES in all of this?
