I sold this car earlier this year but the new owner has been having all kinds of fun with it. I still talk to him regularly and love that he is out using it properly. I'm going to start another project pretty soon and hope it will be a little more serious and quite a bit faster.

Picked this beast up today for 100 bucks. It's a 69 volvo 142. A little lighter, shorter, and cooler than the 242. Going to build it pretty much the same, just more tire, horsepower, and some safety equipment.

Thanks guys, can't wait to get started on the next one. I love that the black one was internet famous for a few days, especially since it was raping such high dollar cars. He drove it to both events with his 3 kids in the back, raced and drove home, exactly the way I like it.

My goal for the new one is to do the same but be able to make a solid 8 second pass. With budget in mind what would you guys run for a trans between a 400 or glide? My number one priority would be reliability. I wouldn't mind not having the perfect combo if it meant reliability. I really wanted a glide but they seem expensive to build with any expectation of in not randomly breaking a case or planetary. Now I'm leaning towards a 400, as much as I want to dive into the world of trans building I think I'll save up and just have one built by somebody that knows what they are doing.
