Default Volvo 242, lq4, gt45, th400, 8.8

Ive had this car running for about a year now. It went 12.5 with the bone stock 6.0 on street tires. The beginning goal with the car was to turbo it but life got in the way. I finally have had some time and a little money to make it happen with a full compliment of Chinese speed parts

I already installed a ls9 cam and its running megasquirt II. It will be non intercooed and run on e85. Still need to get a good converter install my walbro 400 pump. Hope to have it back up and running this weekend though.

Everybody likes pictures!

Thanks! here are a couple pics of the car,

It has 17 steelies on it from a new dodge charger. I actually widened the rears myself so it has 7's in front and 8's in the rear. The car is pretty limited for tire widths. I already have some 255 mickeys mounted up for the new power.

Cool car, not as much of a sleeper as the wagon but much better looking

That welder looks like you stole it out of the Adam West / Burt ward Bat cave lol. What ever works, your welds look great.

Question for you guys,

I'm running a ford 8.8 rear axle out of an explorer. I shortened the long side to match the short side so I am able to run two short side axles. They are just stock 31 spline axles and whatever the hell they call their factory limited slip carrier. Should I be worried about breaking an axle? My goal is just to get in the tens and don't know if it's ever going to 60 ft that well. I have heard different stories on the strength of the stock stuff. I am also turning the right side axle the opposite way it had been turning the previous 130k, so that also worries me. I have also noticed big price differences in axles. Any recommendations on what I can get away with, or if I even need to worry?

I personally know of people going deep into the 10's with stock 31 splines. Remember, most factory mustang axles are 28 spline and you see those guys throwing crazy power at those stock axles before upgrading. Will your axles break? Maybe, maybe not. Most likely not. I think big power out of the hole will kill an axle fast. Like a nitrous car or big block will wreck **** faster in the 60'. Awesome build you have there. How is the power with that gt45?

It's not running with the turbo yet, should have it running this weekend. Hoping to make 600 but whatever it make it makes. I see you have a squirted 6.0. Mine still randomly wont sync when cranking. It never has any sync issues when running, just cranking. If I cycle the key and re crank, most of the time it will fire. I can go 20 starts without issue, then whem I'm trying to show the car off, sync error... I have worked with the guy that writes the code and I don't seem to be the only guy that is having issues. I have just been living with it but when I switch to e85 I dont want try and tune the cold start with sync issues. Just wondering if you have any issues?

Does it have sync issues with your current LS9 cam? You need the correct cam gear. I remember denmah having issues with starting. Turns out he had the incorrect cam gear.

No im running the ms2 extra code that only uses the 24 tooth crank wheel, no cam sensor. It seems like it's only the 6.0 guys have issues, like they turn slightly slower when cranking than the 5.3's

I see. I am using the msd 6010 for ignition. I figured most LS's crank at least 200 rpms.
