Default Belt change help 99 Camaro D1SC

Like the title says, what's the easiest way to go about this? Haven't had the car long and the belt is making crazy loud noises. Please help!

Thanks!

you have already tried tightening it I assume?

is this the stock J bracket?

if your car is an auto Im pretty sure your going to have to remove the trans cooler lines. after that go to the bracket and relieve the tension and take it off.

I would guess you first have to take the tension off of it by using the bolt/nut that sets your tension on the top of your j-bracket, and than pull the blower for access to the bottom bolt on your j-bracket, unbolt the bottom bolt and lossen the top 2 bolts and than slide the belt out and slide the new belt in and reverse for installation. Hopefully I'm right on that and if I'm not someone who has changed the belt chime in!

Now is the time instead of putting a new belt on that i wld either pin the end of the j bracket, i beleive conan on here has this, or check in to aster bracket or sdce, something a lil more realible for a d1sc ur gonna need somethething w less flex than the j bracket, ive heard the jbracket can be bolted at the end to help w belt slip i would definately check into one of the fixes also a good time if ur still running the plastic inlet hat w filter get rid of that, those are the two biggest issues w the common d1sc install, good luck sir
