Yeah that thing looks like it flows like ****. All of those square shaped turns don't seem to do that good for flow.

Hey Carlos, I talked with you a few times years ago about having similar setups. But did your pt88 t6 housing still feel like it fell off or was that on the t4? If so im glad I seen you ditch the t6 pt88 setup. With my setup on my car (6.0/pt88/e85) I'm on the fence of doing the t6 housing or building a twin kit to get up in the 21-23lbs 900-1000rwhp area safely. Right now I'm 16-18 lbs at 820rwhp. To me real low exhaust back pressure will save my mostly low budget motor for longer.

Btw that's sick you work at redline now!

(Edit **** I just notice this was a old tread) oh well

Carlos doesn't get on tech anymore But I don't think he ever put the T6 housing on the car. He offered to sell it to me unused before I sold you my pt88

that's correct. Never tried it because it wouldn't fit without redoing the entire kit. Just didn't seem worth the effort to pick 100-150 hp. I just sold the exhaust housing to a guy who I'm tuning for and helping out remotely in California. He pretty much copied my setup so I hope to find out what it does pretty soon. He's working thru some bugs with the drive train so that he can max out his pt88 t4. The he's gonna swap it out so that we can get a real apples to apples comp. The Holley ECU log w/ a time slip should provide solid data.

Also, I was only working part time at Redline to help him while he looked for someone permanent. I am no longer there. I have my own IT service company.

To run an 8.9 on the old setup, I had my old cast wheel pt88 maxed at 23 psi.

Here's the new build thread if anyone wants to check it out.

Finally got her out to the track after a series of issues that almost caused me to have to set her on fire and burn her to the ground. Anyway, felt good to finally get back behind the wheel at the track. From left to right. First pass was an 1/8 mile shut down to check things out. Second pass was focusing on getting up on the 2 step faster as converter is very tight so almost the same pass just full 1/4. Last pass I turned up the 2 step RPM and built a little more boost. Should be good for a 1.32 60' next time out. Drove to and from. Good first outing at low boost. Max 17 psi. Got a few things to iron out and pretty sure I can run an 8.9 (my previous best with the 24 psi maxed out PT8 on this same boost setting. Car scaled in at 3842 with me in it after the last pass. I'm almost out of injector. 120's are seeing 90% IDC.

Very nice runs! Looking to do the same as you. Learned a bunch of changes to do to the car on my 9.5 run. Any video of the runs? Also what tire are you on?

I don't think anyone got any video. If they did, I have not seen it. I'm on a MT 325/50/15 ATM. Would like to try a set of the MT 275 Pro tire. My biggest problem right now is that it's taking to long to get on the 2 step. Sending it back to FTI for an adjustment. I need it tighter up top and looser down low. I mean, why have cake if you can't eat it, right?

What rpm was the two step at on the last pass and how much boost did it build on the brake?

I hear ya, I have some issues like that to work out on my car. My 2 step wasn't even working last time at the track, so I just had to get it up on the transbrake only. It would pretty much only make 6 psi on the brake, so that is what I had to work with. I would love to see what a 10psi launch would do with my car. 6psi got me 1.36.

That was me. I took off my pt88 removed the t4 housing and found there were two different exhaust wheel sizes for the pt88. I spoke to Chris at midwest turbo and he had some very simple and easy upgrades which would really make that housing fit as well as compressor upgrades. I ended up putting a b/W s484 with 96mm exhaust wheel. I still have the t6 exhaust housing. It is brand new and heat coated. I will give someone a smoking deal on it if they can continue the data project and let us know the effects of switching it over.
