I always run it at the track and its always within one mph and one tenth. Has pretty decent software too.
Just a visual example of what I have seen:
14* makes 575rwhp/543rwtq gain of 48
16* makes 623rwhp/562rwtq gain of 46
18* makes 669rwhp/584rwtq Average gain per degree 23.5rwhp for 2 runs.
20* makes 680rwhp/584rwtq gain of 11
^^ (usually stop here and dial back one degree on 91/93 octane cars on e85 its alot safer to stick with it)
22* makes 671rwhp/566rwtq---now your defeating the purpose.
so 18-19* is about prime time in this example. I would say 18* and then spray the methanol and go with more boost vs timing. At least that's what my noobish tuning skills would lead me to believe is best. This is just an example of what I have seen other tuners doing.
tell you the truth trying to buy my own dyno now for the shop..
im maxed out on my 2bar so was just going to push on this combo for awhile, looking to go to the track here soon to get one good pass before they kick me off.
Im hoping for 9.6s-9.7s
Also, NOT sure how high of a rpm is safe on stock bottom 6.0's but I have my shift light (now fixed) set at 6700. Turbo's will pull way past this point though.
Great thread.
Its a SBE 5.3 with rod bolts and head studs. 243 heads. lunati turbo cam
I just got the car and im a complete noob to everything about it LOL. FI, EFI, E85 never messed with any of them, im use to carbs and NOS.
The car has yet to make a pass or be on a dyno. Im gonna take it soon and have a pro look over the tunes and tweek as needed. It will be cool to get some power #'s too. Like the OP i have a feeling after about 2 passes i will get the boot as i have no cage or bar either.

The first car I think I can handle the second has been king of the street as long as I have been driving..
