Is it hitting when you go to bolt it up or you can't get it up under the manifold?

Perhaps you need to rotate it 90 degrees?

cant get it in at all, I have tried to rotate it in as many ways as I could. I even beat it with a hammer.

It will pass through, its just when it gets through it is hitting that back of the manifold, and I cant get it to twist down in order to slide into place.

thanks

do you have spacers on the motor mount? i think you need like 1/8-1/4 inches, mine is a few washers.

ive always taken it out and put it in with the engine out though, you might need to take off the turbo or some other things to get it in

I've had mine out a dozen times and every time i do it I have to remove the steering shaft and either jack up the motor or remove the log. If your still using the around the front crossover that makes it even more of a pain. I don't even mess with it anymore I just pull the log right away it makes the job soooo much easyer and faster when all said and done. You aren't trying to do this with the turbo bolted to the log are you?

Do you absolutely need to have the spacers? I didn't read anything about any spacers...

well, I have not taken the steering shaft out, I suppose Ill just do that. I may remove the log and relocate the wastegate anyway while im in there. It has been bothering me on the passenger side rear.

are the spacers absolutly required for it to fit?

And yes the turbo and old DP are out of hte way. If you remove the manifold has anyone been able to put the manifold back on with the turbo attached? someone told me that this was the only way to do it saved so much time, but I just dont see how that would be possible.

thanks for all the help, I will keep ya informed.

Once you get everything in there bolt everything back up but don't tighten any of the bolts until everything is together. I've found that doing this helps everything line up better. As for the spacers i'd bolt it all up and if the DP is not hiting the motor mount you'll be alright. Also i'd suggest using the copper high temp. RTV sealant on all the gaskets to prevent leaks. I've tryed bolting the DP to the turbo and installing, that didn't work to bad but i've never tryed bolting the turbo to the log and installing i'd think it would be a PITA.

Mine fit without spacers, but the motor was out so I just dropped the everything (turbo, log, DP) in at the same time.
