that was in the car with the old setup that went low 9s. that was forged motor stock 317 heads and an 80mm turbo. added nitrous and cooked the heads off of it. trans had alomost 2 yrs on it then.
put the stock motor in with same trans and new turbo setup. the trans was all good until the sprag broke early this year. went ahead and decided to go through it since i was there anyway. this time i got a local trans shop to get the red clutches and kolene steels, soft parts kit and bushing kit along with a new 34 element sprag. cost me about 200 the last go round.

I put my old converter back in and the car slowed down .1
Last time to the track it was hotter than usual. Car was down .2
I turned the boost up a little and got it to go 128 to the 1/8 mile.
I put a Holley hp efi system on the car this weekend. Once I get it dialed in I will pull the motor and I will be putting a forged stock cube 6.0 in with mast ls3 heads. Then I will be able to lean on it pretty hard. Right now I'm afraid to turn it up because of the stock bottom end.

I'm running a Holley HP on my LS7 and I love it. The traction control option is going to be slick for the road courses.
My buddy runs one on a turbo LS9 2800lbs T56 RX-7 and has never seen a tuner. It runs better than his previous tune on the stock PCM paying multiple tuners. Once he gets the traction control and boost controller setup it is going to be silly fast. IMO the system is a no brainer. Here is video with about 20 mins worth of tuning and under 100 miles on a fresh motor.
The Ford GT guy said he was running low boost (Bullsh*t) and not on full kill mode. We later find out it was on kill and spraying nitrous. Hello aerodynamics FTW.

I want to but I know that thing is on borrowed time already. its been in the car for 8 months now getting pounded on. I believe my car with the right converter in it would run 8.30s-8.40s on a little more boost. i want a little more reliability.

Im putting together a similar build and was wondering a little more about the cam? Who did you have do it? Custom grind or off the shelf? And just how high do you spin the stock motor? And I was looking at the 07ish motors and if im not mistaken they come stock with rectangle port heads correct? I noticed earlier in the thread you said you were running L92 style heads didn't know if you bought the ones GM performance sells (or a used set) or just used the stock truck heads?
Any info is appriciate thanks
