Thank you for the compliments, I am taking the jeep to the track tomorrow to make some passes and work on the tuning some more.

Any specifics or links you can pass on about the swap itself? I have an 86 Comanche that I'd love to do a 5.3 swap on.

Not much, everything was custom made except for the engine mounts. It is way better then the original I6 and crappy aw4.

No I was not able to make it, it was snowing half way there so I just turned around. There is an outlaw street car shoot out this Saturday at Cecil and I plan on racing that as long as the weather holds.

I took the jeep to the track yesterday, they only let us run 1/8 mile due to high winds. I got a best time of 8.499 at 98 mph, this was with launching from an idle. I really need to get a higher stall torque converter so I can launch better.

Hey, how are you doing? It was nice meeting you, I wont be there this Friday but maybe next. Let me know if you have any questions on the swap and I would love to check out the yj again, I haven't seen it sense Adams jeep show a couple years ago.

Also the jeep now has a circle d triple lock up converter and I am hoping to make it to the track this weekend if parts can show up in time.

Did you ever get your Idle and VE table straightened out? If so, i'd be curious to know what the fix was. I'm battling somewhat of the same issue.

Yes, I ended up messing with my required fuel settings was able to scale the VE table up into higher resolution numbers. The jeep was then giving me problems with heat soak throwing the idle off with this warmer weather. I just turned the idle up to around 1100 rpm and was able to get the idle to smooth out.

Saw you at Cecil last Friday laying down some very respectable numbers.
Wanted to come check it out but you were gone before I had the chance.

Rider,

I think i'm having similar issues with my 5.3. At idle i'm around 11.0 AFR as well but my tuner just commanded timing down to 10 degrees at idle then normal scaling once it comes out of 900 RPMs. What were you able to get your AFR too once you raised the idle? The exhaust fumes burn my eyes at idle, its ridiculous! I appreciate it!

Thank you for the complements, the future plans include running in this years drag week. I also picked up a l33 short block which will be going in shortly. The plans for this upcoming winter are to convert to e85, switch to ms3pro ultimate, and go to twin turbos on the l33. My goal is to push the jeep deep into the 8's with a sbe.
