Did both pumps fail or just one in the unit allowing the car to still run?

Beware, Holley now says that the 12-800 pump is a "RACE" pump only! The "new" 12-800-2 is now the new "street" pump... What a bunch of BS!

Given the pump is basically just 2 in-tank pumps mounted in an enclosure so you can use them externally, it should be fine to run in-tank.

Default pump

A lot of cont. over these pumps now, Holley is sup. doing a redesign due to "hot fuel issues"

When you take a pump that's designed to be surrounded by cool fuel and place it in a small enclosure, it is less then ideal.

Although it would still be getting a flow of fresh fuel around it...it just must not be good enough

Perhaps they need a slightly larger casing for them or something

I've put a couple hundred miles on my 12-1800 with E85 and so far no issues. It's important to mount the pump 'flat", as mounting it on the side of a frame rail results in the high side beind dry and causing failures. It is nice and quiet and so far I'm impressed. But, as always, needs to pass the test of time.

I made 888rwhp and went 150 on the hp-1400 pump. It isn't mounted flat either with about 4k miles.

I am switching to the 1800 and will try to flat mount it. Looking to be around 1100rwhp on C12 this year.

I have the 1800. 1 year of race street use. Although it's far from a daily driver.
It's not mounted flat either. The instructions said nothing about that.
Both pumps run full time.
I don't race in the heat. I don't enjoy that at all.

I'll change to the magnafuel if this one fails. On E85 so I need more pump anyway

When I went to Holley for EFI training class they mentioned the flat mounting. Don't know if they'll change the instructions, but they admitted that was certainly a cause of failures they'd seen.
