Default t70 vs t76

I have a 383 9:1 cr with a 220/230 cam stock ported heads. Im gathering parts for a rear mount turbo set up. I have a master power t70 with a .96 ar exhaust. And I have my eye on a master power t76 with a 1.00 exhaust. My goals are 600-700 rwhp. What turbo would you choose for my set up

Bigger is better in this case. I'd run the T76 with the 1.00 housing. Another option is the On3 76mm with the .96 housing.

They've had pretty good success so far. There are several with builds on here. Good budget turbo. I like mine. lol I'm going to do twin 70s on my 72 Camaro build. Look up Wicked69 and his Chevelle. They've done good for him too. I believe they're copies of the MasterPower series turbos.

76 for sure on a 383. Not a fan of on3 turbos personally and if you can afford a turbonetics or precision I think youll be much better off.

If you could fit a S475/83/ 1.0 ~1.1 T4 back there it would be worth the extra $.

You need a bigger turbine than those turbos have.

T76 with the 1.00 housing or the PT 76mm with a .96housing will work good also.

The MP T70 and T76 are the same physical size. So if you have the T70 already why not try it first? But you will probably find that it's too small for your goals. I believe the On3 76 and Turbonetics TC76 are the same physical size as well. If you find you need more exhaust then Turbonetics has their new 7675 that will also fit.

Yes, the turbine is too small as a front or rear mount, especially on a 383. A BW s475 with the 83mm turbine is a much better choice, although the turbine is still a little small.

Jridenour31 wouldnt the s475 have a lot of lag? I want it to make boost in the low rpms. I only shift at 6000-6300

No, it wouldn't. Although it won't spool as quickly as those p-trims, it will still spool very quickly with the 83mm turbine and 1.1 a/r housing, especially with a 383 and the right cam. Those small turbines run into backpressure issues very quickly on a 6.0 and you've got another 19 inches making it even worse. An s475 with 83mm turbine is very similar to a 7675 and those spool almost instantly.
