turbo 4.8 which heads??
I've read tons of threads i feel like and i have gotten absolutely no where.. i have a set of 799s and 706s.... what should i do?? im leaning to the 799s the drop the compression a little but i know these motors like compression and boost! So im up in the air about what to use? and should i get them mildly ported? valves? valve springs and retainers??
I'm looking to be somewhere around the 700rwhp mark not sure on which turbo im going to use... this motor is a stock bottom end it is studded.. arp rod cap bolts.. and gonna go with a custom spec cam...
thanks for any input just want to go in the right direction..

i just took my 862 heads off and did a mild port...flow was 245cfm at 550 lift..gonna use the tu0 cam from speed inc...wanted a little more flow but i am happy with them and i keep the compression...........Bob

With ported heads, bigger valves, and the right cam, you'll do more with 15 psi than you would with stock heads/cam at 20 psi. I would definitely recommend adding in an intercooler and a Methanol/Water injection setup if you plan to run pump (91 or 93 octane). Colder charge air = more air/volume = more power, also lower risk of detonation. Plus the water will absorb heat and further help prevent detonation and allow you to get to higher psi safely.
At 15psi, you'll surpass your 700rwhp goal.
