Default turbo kit on no tune..

if you had a turbo kit on and hooked up but not tuned for it yet and had to drive it.

would you guys rather leave the WG off of it to make no boost?

or

leave the last of the cold side piping off and let turbo boost into nothing and put air filter on MAF/TB or both open cold side turbo/MAF? and leave WG on

thanks

If you leave cold pipes off you run the risk of over spooling the turbo because there's no restriction of air flow.

your not ready for boost.. both of those ideas are bad.. if for some strange reason you can afford a FI setup on a ls1, but not a tune. best thing to do is drive it normal and stay out of boost.. drive like an old lady or pick the pieces up off the ground.

If you're driving it TO the tuner, just have everything connected and stay out of boost. You're tuner will appreciate that it's all together as you would be driving it. Also, you should make sure all your connections are tight and there are no boost leak issues. Will keep you from wasting your tuner's time if you have boost leaks.

Yeah, when I had to drive mine to the tuner, I just took the BOV off on mine and then I could know for sure that it wasn't going to make boost. The BOV can usually be taken off and put back on in less than 60 seconds.

The turbo will force more air out of the hole than the engine will try to suck in, but just put it on and stay out of the throttle.

Just drive as if you had a newborn child in the car. no need to take parts off. Just keep your foot out of it.

If you have swapped to larger injectors do not drive it. Put the stockers back on to drive it to the tuner.

The obvious answer is to trailer it or tow it. You have a large investment in your car and your going to risk it all over a couple hundred bucks.

have everything hooked up and just baby it to the tune shop if its near by. im assuming you didnt put larger injectors and 2-3 bar MAP sensor in it yet? if so, the car wont run.... ask me how i know lol
but yes, as long as you dont go speed racer on it, you'll be fine. just stay out of boost and youll be fine. the larger the turbo the easier it will be lol my T76 at part thottle wouldnt see past -6vac putting around town doing 35-45mph

basically what i was asking lol, again JUST asking to see, i can borrow a friends trailer if its this big of a deal, i do plan on doing 2 bar map/speed density tune, im not saying i HAVE to go race it with my turbo kit untuned, i ether figured running no WG or after yall suggested it keep out of boost as that wouldnt be any diff to no turbo kit

if can you trailer it, do that for sure. get it to up to temp and check for leaks or whatever.. you might have a problem during tuning and might need the trailer anyways.

I've drove plenty of my turbo cars without a tune like everyone says just stay outta the throttle . Not a big deal if you drive it without a tune.

If you stay out of boost it's really no different than it was before the turbo. I would feel 100% comfortable driving it w/o a new tune, but I would baby it of course. If you swapped injectors then you will need a tune to drive it.
