Did your cam specs happen to be 238/240 .605/.609 112lsa? Or around there

Wow man, hope the Tick cam helps. Mine is sitting in my garage and begging to be put in. I'm back home and starting back on my build. I am loving the time and effort you put into the painting. I wont even pretend to think mine will look as good.

^ yes. Martin explained piece by piece why the cam isnt ideal. He said if you never would of called me, yiu would of been happy because the cam would sound likena race car and it would of made high peak hp. But he said torque would be down, there wouldnt b hardly any power under the curve and the turbos would spool very slow. He said my old cam had like 16* of overlap. My new cam has 4*.

Martin told me this cam would be awesome for my setup so I believe him. I see a ton of people using his cams and they're happy with them. And thanks man. The painting is soaking up a lot of time but it needed to be done. Just take your time. Mine is far from perfect, I just did it thr best as I could. Get you a build thread started!

So i shot the specs over to Martin @ Tick performance and he said my cam is horrible for boost. I have a buddy picking up my old cam today and ill be ordering my new cam tonight from Martin. Looking at a 230/239 .609/.610 115+5LSA now. So just a little hiccup, but ill be assembling the new cam next weekend, then onto reinstalling all my cold/hot piping for final assembly. then its on to the wiring harness and starting this ****** up!
So it hasn't even ran, have 0 numbers on it but the cam is bad

When I was at AES we ran this cam spec in 390ci multiple times, made great power and ET, why mess with success? How many times has your other cam spec been run, tested, proven? and in a 390? Did it go 5.20 to the 1/8?

Granted I would use less cam in a TBSS, but that wasn't my decision.

I asked for a choppy idle at the expense of torque though. After taking out a high comp big cammed 434, I wanted the idle to be similar for that oldschool factor.

I'll be leaving mine in.

I may be wrong, but I think AES builds their motors and specs their cams etc for the strip. Not the dyno? Iunno. Every engine builder will give you different reasons for cam choices. Use what works.

Martin said it would of made great peak power. And I probably wouldnt know that its not as efficient under the curve. This is a street car, not a drag car. So under the curve power is more important to me than peak power. And yea the car hasnt ran yet. I dont wanna get it completely together and running and have to tear everything apart the swap a cam. Might as well do it now. Everything ive read and have been told is that overlap is bad for turbos. That cam has ~15* of overlap, the new one has ~5. And I also asked for a specd cam for my motor based on what my heads flowed and the rest of the car.. It just seems like they just threw that cam into my motor cuz "thats what they use" and apprently they did cuz several other people have the same cam.

Josh(allout) ended up with a 229/235 114lsa camshaft I ground for him versus his old 238/240 112lsa camshaft.

If you'd like to talk cams my contact information is shown. Thanks.

Yea i did. I bought the 4 connectors that go on the passenger fender, that connect the PCM harness to the fuse box harness off of a junk car. Im going to make an extension harness to connect my PCM to the fuse box, that way i dont have to cut and extend any of the original wires on my car. I would like to see pictures of yours still. im still open for ideas lol. Heres the harness i bought. Im going to extend it about 2-2.5ft
