Default For the SDCE spring tensioner guys

So I finally got around to mounting the head unit and setting the SDCE spring tensioner today. As we all know the tool they provide is a POS, so I decided to make my own. For the first time EVER I set the tension my self and didn't scratch the blue procharger ID plate . Hope this helps you guys out with your SDCE set up. Here's how it turned out...

I moved the bolt you use to set the tension to the other side of the tool. So now the tool doesn't want to fly off the front of the spring when prying over on the bolt. I also used a 7/16 bolt so you can use a 5/8 wrench VS the 1/2 wrench SDCE uses.

Bump to the top...

I made a few more of these this weekend. If any one wants one I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping...

Nice job. Instead of giving them away you should make a video showing how well it works and sell a few.

Thanks man,

The steel is free to me, left over from a project I did for a friend. So I don't mind to help the cause

Good video. Shows how easy it should be to adjust a belt.

SDCE should pay YOU for showing how to make a proper tool for THEIR bracket.

It's a shame the tool they give you sucks, it the only thing I've ever had a problem with. The rest of the SDCE bracket has been great for the last 7 years of my procharger set up.

I still have 1 more tool if any one else is interested, and I have enough materal to make 4-5 more.

You're a GOOD GUY!
Not many people would be willing to engineer a better mouse trap and then give it away (especially at less than cost).
SDCE has already seen this I bet and I'm willing to bet dime to a do doughnut that newer set-ups will include a tool that mirrors yours.

Thanks for the kind words

The price will have to go up after these 4 go out. I'm out of the free to me steel I've been using.
