That didnt work for me. I wonder if my stepper motor is messed up.

I have the same issue with the tach. I have read a little bit about some older tachs not working with the newer computer. I pick it up in logs but no needle movement and is wired correctly.

Does yours jump a tiny bit when you start it up? Thats the only movement i get. Mine logs as well

I haven't seen any movement on mine, but have never stared at it too much. I read a post yesterday that states that you can use ping on connector c105 of the 99+ harness and wire it to pin d on connector c230 on a 98 and earlier harness. Supposed to be the traction control feed and will work on the older tachs.
Going to give it a try this weekend

That's what I just tried, and it didn't work. It didn't make a difference. Let me know if it works for you.
