With 5psi of boost on a good tune your motor will be just fine!!
Once to start getting in the 9 + range problems will crop up..
To answer your question though. Cheapest way. Buy a thicker set of Cometic Head gaskets. I'm running .067" Stock is .054". You can even go bigger than .067" but I would not reccomend it on a blown car. This is not the proper way to lower your compression. Dished out heads bigger than the LS1 heads, like the Aluminum 6.0L truck heads. Or get 9 to 1 pistons.

best way is probably getting pistons dished...
cheapest way...probably get 6.0L heads with 72cc - that should drop a stock LS1 to ~9.5 comp..add a cometic gasket at .067 and you are close to 9.0-9.3..dont quote on that gasket but i know .067 is the biggest suggested for a FI.
