Default Help with cooling

Running a 99 ta turbo, 7675gts lm33 5.3 th400 turbo cam ford 9" 3.25 gears 3500 stall. Before motor swap was stock 5.7 ls1 same turbo car was a 6 speed.
I'm having issues with it heating up while cruising if I keep the rpms down below around 2500 it will get up to about 220. as soon as I stop it cools down to around 210. It has a 160 thermostat and I have removed the ac and condenser and installed a mechanical water temp gauge.
It never got hot with the 6 speed set up at least no of factory gauge.
Car has dual flex a lite fans ( set up as pusher ) and a 3rd fan on other side of rad as a puller. Car had ac and its a front mount so there wasn't much room before for bigger fans.
What are you guys running for a rad, should I look at going to a dual core alum deal or maybe just a Lt1 stock rad?
Thanks for any help.

If it cools when you come to a stop it has to be an airflow issue at speed. Check your air dam.

That's why I removed condenser. Intercooler up front is pretty big though. It only cools off down to about 210 no lower when sitting in traffic. Shouldn't it run a little cooler with 3 fans and 160 thermostst?

Mine is 6 speed but I took my thermostat out, air dam is gone in the trash, and I used the stock fans with shroud as pushers in front. Just switched the wires behind the harness. Stock radiator. High 180s low 190s cruising on hot day and around low 200s sitting in traffic a while. Watching all this on my scan tool. Fans are set to come on whatever factory settings are.

Have you got a turbo blanket? None of my pipes are wrapped either cause I like the look of clean stainless.

Before I took thermostat out and put the turbo blanket on it was getting to 210 cruising and close to 220 in traffic. Used Godspeed ebay blanket. 58.99 cheapo. Helped a ton. I can lay my arm on the hot side even on a hot day after a drive.

It never got hot when it was a 6 speed.
Trans cooler is a cheap hayden mounted to inter cooler not to radiator.

So anyone else have any ideas?
Or anyone run that bigger radiator or swap a lt1 rad in? I can't be the only one with cooling issues lol. Unless these motors just run hotter then old school sbc stuff?

get a pair of the Derale 16925 pusher fans (says puller & pusher but they have different #'s - 2150 cfm each http://www.jegs.com/i/Derale/259/16925/10002/-1) and don't look back. i currently am running just 1 and it never hits 210. on/off at factory settings, no thermostat, but have a meziere street pump. i'm also running a griffin radiator similar to the one that's mentioned 100 times in the FI section for about $200 but i went with the one that has 1 1/4" tubes vs the 1" tubes because Griffin says it's good for up to 30% better cooling and for about $75 more, it was better to go big then park on the side of the road with a puking overheated radiator. lastly, i have a huge derale trans cooler with it's own 550 or 650 cfm fan mounted under the car vs having something else in front of the radiator & IC reducing air flow & adding more heat, so i'm sure that helps me some. when it comes to cooling, it's 1 area i never go cheap on.

Hope that helps and good luck!
