Yes, 2/3 of the charge pipe is done and the last section's not that far behind. I also broke down and ordered a dual pass radiatior & its here now, final welded the crossover. Been meaning to post pics but keep forgetting to take them lol. I'm getting married in 25 days and my goal is to have this car done before then, we will see how it goes.

Congrats on the up coming wedding! I had to make mine promise me we would finish the hot rod if we got married. She's a good egg, she held up her end of the bargain!

I was thinking about you the other day. Wondering how far you went with this car. Like the direction you're headed with this new setup! You have gotten quite handy with the tig...

Haven't seen David in a few years, but I've heard he has a pretty quick hot rod now a days!

Hey man, thanks! Haha yeah my wife to be is ok with the car, she knows it brings me a lot of tune customers so shes wanting it back together too lol.

Dave is good, he's my best man lol. He's coming down to my house this weekend to watch the lights out race and we are supposed to take his new car to monroe next weekend, he just swapped to the Holly Dominator efi system and the car is a rocket!

Great to hear from you!

That's cool. We'll have to meet and catch up. I've been out of the car game for a while myself. Kind of easing back into it again.

Love the build man. I just bought a Precision GT4788 for my build. Can't wait to see how yours turns out.

A couple of update pics, not much but its progress lol.

Crossover is final welded & I added tabs to the flange to hold it to the support so if I ever needed to pull the turbo off later on the crossover would stay mounted to the turbo support.

Cold side progress, have one short run left to fit up and weld.

How are you gonna go about pressuring it up to test it. I'd like to do the same thing to rule out an issue I could be having. I just don't see an easy way around it with the tube hooked up to the throttle body as cam overlap would just let pressure escape out the exhaust. I'm all ears.

Well I've already done it on my old build, I made a cap out of plumbing parts that goes on the turbo. You then hook a air pressure regulator regulated down to 10# and pressurize the whole system with the TB still hooked up. It actually helped me to find an injector O-ring that was leaking manifold pressure once. Sorry all I have is a crappy pic of it, this is actually a pic of one I made a couple years ago for my friends GT5588 turbo.

You can ONLY use T-bolt clamps on this setup to hold the coupler together, worm gear clamps will let the cap blow off. the top of the cap is drilled and a 3/8 barbed union is tapped in using a plastic epoxy called "Superfast" to glue and seal it off, i also lay a few beads of superfast on the pvc cap & let them harden before stretching the rubber coupler over it, that way it wont slide off under pressure.

Subd, tons of great info on this thread for someone trying to learn. Love the idea for the turbo mount and the tabs on the crossover.

Thanks, hope I can share more info that will help. Turbo mount came from my head & the tabs on the crossover were actually a friend's idea for his car but he doesn't weld and never did it.
