Intake selection for Turbo 408
Alright guys need a little help. Doing a turbo 408 in a 92 fox body coupe. short block is done, heads are on there way as well. Still trying to figure out what the best selection for an intake is. Obviously there is always a FAST 92-102 but I've also heard good things about holley's intakes for forced induction as well.
In your personal experience/opinion what would be the best choice?

Id choose the Holley Hi-Ram, BUT keep in mind you gotta get rid of your winshield wipers. Super Vic intake will also have its clearance issues as well. Some people go with sheetmetal intakes to avoid clearance issues but they are $$$$. Soo, a FAST 102mm will be the best choice.

Thanks for the input guys. Its gonna be a dig car for the most part. So low end is key. Looking to make hopefully around the 1100hp mark when running at 24 psi I just didnt know if a fast intake could handle that much boost.

Look at what most are doing with stock intakes +. Boost. Stock 48 ran 8.30@160+ with the factory truck intake/throttle body etc... Daniel Ran in the high 7sec range and so on.

I was going through this debate a week ago. I ended up deciding to stick to the single plane due to all of the horror about the fast intake not holding 20+psi. I have one brand new and will not be using it because i'm not trying to take the chance.

Ive contemplated stock as well. Im just trying to maximize performance along with longevity.Ive heard the horror stories about the FAST intakes as well and that worries me. I know that holley makes a mid rise intake as well but I havent done much research on it. Anybody have any experience with that?

If your goals are 1000hp and under 6800 rpm or so, the OEM truck manifold gets my vote. If it cracks (not likely) pick up another, they are dirt cheap. IMO save your money for parts with a higher HP per $ investment.
Every track visit I've made this year I literally get 1-2 guys come up to me and tell me I can't/shouldn't run the plastic intake because it will crack/blow-up with boost. I'm at 21lbs now, never had an issue. (ls1 intake)

I will be running a victor Jr. With a sheet metal elbow to fit under my factory hood and under the cowl panel. I was going to run a factory LS3 intake but after getting the run around and getting tired of looking I just picked mine up used for an awesome deal. I would just run what yoy can get a good deal on. You can't go wrong with stock intake, holley or Victor jr.
