Default dual springs needed?

IS it necessary (or highly recommended) to run dual springs on a supercharged engine
I have a smaller cam (571 lift) with the PSI Beehive springs now, and with a new bottom end, will try to push boost into the 15 psi range.
What do you think?

OK, thanks guys; I guess I might as well go ahead with a bigger cam since I will have the supporting valve train.

I was running isky singles I ordered from stock48 on my last setup with a sbe 5.3 and 20+ psi. No problems.

Give stock48 a shout he'll hook ya up on an isky cam and spring combo that'll scream.

For the price, I went with Tooley duals. I had a PAC 1218 snap and valve only mildly kiss the piston without dropping. But the single spring also had 3 years of duty on a .598" lift cam which was probably the most influential factor. Added boost and it broke.

Yes I would recommend dual springs. You can get a good set of springs from Brian Tooley for a badass price and good quality.

How many miles you planning on putting on this thing? How high do you rev the motor?

I run with roughly the same lift and 21lbs On pac 1218's. Don't rev the motor much over 6k though.

I dont see why you would wanna cheap out something as affordable as a set of valve springs.

Not a matter of cheaping out. It's a matter of choosing the correct spring for your application. If a dual spring isn't needed there is not reason to run one. Running excessive spring pressure is just a bad as to little pressure. I think it falls along the lines of "bigger isn't always better".

I checked with him and got a recommendation on a set. I am trying to keep the cost down, but not worth losing a motor for $300. The only issue now, is that if I am going to invest in springs and the install, I might as well spend a little more and get a blower cam
Never ends....
