Default procharger truck intake wtf

cant say anything bad about the quality of the truck intake for the FMIC kit that is made for our cars and sold on brutespeed.

on to my issue, i can get it to stay on the blower but as for it tucking into the fenderwell or even up a lil higher into the bumper area it seems impossible. i managed to get it clamped on the blower but when i was driving to the shop i went over a rough intersection heard a lil scrub sound and there it went, stuck under the car. any help for getting it to tuck up into the car better?

So your truck intake manifold flipped up and over and went under your car? Got pics? I have to see this.

not the manifold, just the intake arm and filter

I'm thinking about drilling and tapping threads and put screws to keep it in place

might not be a bad idea, but does yours also hang down really low? mine can be seen from the front of the car and if i try to go any higher it makes contact with the I/C piping

i zip tied mine up to relieve the weight from yanking on it so it wouldnt escape if it did come off.

used a t bolt clamp instead of a band clamp and it stayed but i was not overly satisfied.

thanks man i may have to give it a shot, also, i have two different tubes for the intake both are the same shape but one seems a lil shorter, migth try using that one

Finally have the car back and this thing has to be way to low. My filter sits dead even with the black air deflector under the car. If the deflector touches the ground the filter and arm come right off. Only thing I can think of is removing my cruise control box to get it to mount up any higher. What filter are you guys all using I got the one from brute speed

Yea be careful the truck hat really is a bitch to clamp onto the head unit. I grounded down the black cone looking thing on my F1A, because it kept coming off. Im going to be looking into getting a metal hat that someone on this board bought as a kit from unknown vendor. Ill let you know if I find something. You might have to move your rad foward with this though.

Use a t-bolt clamp to secure the inlet to the blower, it helps. Most Napa's carry t-bolt clamps these days. It wouldn't be a bad idea to add a brace, we've done that with the aluminum inlets as they have a hard time staying on too. Bob

My car has another 45 or something on the end. It tucks it up inside the fender space a little better. Give that a shot!

Cut or file the lip off so you have more flat area for the clamp. I had the same problem and even ran mine over. After i did this no more issues. And as per Bob use a t-bolt clamp.

in for some better pics from ground level and how you guys are doing it.I have a truck hat but couldn't get it to stay like others so went back to the stock one that came with kit.Might try again over the winter to get it to work.

Ok, if you look at the hat, it has a little ring around the edge on the end of the hat. This needs to be sanded down completely. The problem is, the lip of the blower is only as wide as the clamp, so if the clamp gets move out even a fraction of an inch, it's not going to hold.

Plus, that ridge hits a tight spot on the housing, which keeps the truck hat from sitting completely flush...



So once you sand down that ridge, the clamp will sit flush, and the hat will fit properly, and you'll have no issues what so ever.

All of these ideas sound great, I'll give several of them a shot, alchemist did you sand the ridge on the intake piping, or on that area in the red box?

WOW, sorry for the monster pic. I sanded the lip on the truck hat itself, and didn't touch the blower.

Lol it's a tad on the large side lol but ok I'll do that as we'll I've got two truck hats and one is a couple inches shorter than the other so I'm not sure which is my best bet yet
