just something i havent really thought about much. what do you guys recommend

NGK tr6 works great for a junk yard LS any size 10-24lbs of boost

gap 28 for 10lbs and 22 for 20lbs

if you goto advance or autozone ask for part number 4177

Tr6 here too, gapped at 0.028", running up to 13-14psi.

I run the tr8 plugs. I used to run tr6 but don't see an issue with running a colder plug for some added safety

ill be running much lower boost than you guys , stock bottom end, 8lbs

Denmah, do you think there is any negative on running a tr8? Id imagine it would be safer for any boost level.

Easier to foul, harder starts, misfires at low load/rpm.

TR6s worked fine at 800rwhp in my car. Now running BR7EFs at ~1000rwhp. Got a set of TR7IX to swap in once I stop being lazy.

Assuming you are in an F-body, nobody will call you lazy for not wanting to change your plugs

Hmm,ive been running tr8s for a couple years. Ive put like 7k miles on a set and never had any issues. Guess im lucky

tr6's will be fine for you. plugs are cheap. swaps are annoying. that is about it. there are plenty of threads on this hanging around.

It has been 105+ so waiting for it to cool down. Plus got some other things to do once they show up so might as well wait.

you only have those problems if your fueling is not correct.....
I've been on 9's and 10's for several years with my nitrous setup, and never had any issues with Fouling, Hard starts or misfires

plugs are clean at idle, and clean at WOT. (you dont need as much fuel as a lot of people think you need)

also, get rid of that irridium crap....makes it darn near impossible to read plugs to get fueling correct.....

also, you want a Non Protruded tip resistor plug.....less chance of a hot spot to cause detonation and less EMI interference issues that can cause misfires.

I don't think there's an issue running a colder plug. Only reason I have 7s in is because I have an a2w and sub ambient IATs. Some would call 7s in my case overkill. lol

there are no negatives to a colder plug if tuned corectly

you *might* lose a couple of 3-5 horsepower from going way too cold....but its not even enough to notice or worry about

I ran BR7's during tuning, was running good until it started cutting out, (fouled plug I guess) I went to a TR6 , ran VERY good .

I am at 13 psi with 11.6 A/F 15 degrees timing WOT.

I want to go TR7IX Soon just to be safer and to go iridium.

FWIW I don't think they make an actual TR7 plug like a TR6, anything TR7 or TR8 will be iridium tr7IX or tr8IX IX being iridium and more expensive, if there is a regular tr7 or 8 let me know the part number I could never find one
