Honestly if I could find a dual inlet intercooler It would probably be less piping to deal with.. Only problem is that there is one spot and one spot only to route the exhaust out back

SO lets recap from all these awesome posts.

Turbo needs to be a minimum 75/75 (leaning towards the BW S475 as i have a line on them)
I like the .96 AR exhaust
wastegate size?
80lb injectors
stock ECU

I'm fixing to start a very similar build as you. I'm going with a 100% stock 5.3 bottom end with 317s, head studs, LS9 head gaskets, and a TSP 233/239 cam that I already have (granted it will not be the best choice for this setup). The turbo I'm going to be using is a T4 flanged S475 with a 83mm turbine and a 1.10 AR. I'm also going with Siemens 80lb injectors and planning on running a single 60mm gate since this T4 S475 is not a twin scroll charger. However if you do go with a twin scroll T6 S475 I would definitely look into running twin 38 or 44mm gates if you have enough room. If not I would think you would benefit from a larger wastegate so placement will not be as crucial. If your gate placement is ideal you can usually run a smaller wastegate. Here's a link to a similar build thread to what your talking about (engine/turbo setup) with pics of perfect gate placement about 1/2 way down the page.

I'd go with the cxracing 80mm with a 2" crossover. I have the GT45 in my 5.3 Henry J right now that is around 2450lbs with me in it and it gets scary pretty quickly. Spools pretty much instantly. These short wheelbase cars make it a handful to drive.

Educate yourself a little before diving into projects and watch the classified section and that wont happen. Im always on the lookout for parts months/years in advance And you never know what deal you come across that could change the way you go.

5K should well cover it and then some if you do it all yourself.

There was a PT7675 in he classifieds I think, same thing as a PT76GTS, that would be nice with a 6 speed. Mine on a 6.0 worked great and spooled instantly.

I did see that turbo, it went for 2k. Id like to spend around 1k for a nice used unit. Those CX GT45 units look good for the price but I cant help but think they wont last long.

So far all the cx ones ive seen are still spooling. Also dont route the wastegate dump back in the exhaust if you plan to keep it keep 3" all the way.

Because 3" exhaust wont be enough to move not only the pressure from the turbo but from the wastegate too. Also you might get boost spike or boost creep. Especially if your looking into a 80mm turbo.

Here's an interesting read for you about the CX GT45 80.... err, I mean the Magnum XT80. I can't remember if they show a BW S480 in there for comparison. Anyway, a good read...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...turbo-yet.html

And from Modular Turbo's Website: http://vtsql.gkvbf.servertrust.com/m...ger-p/mg80.htm

They sell their XT80 (Ball Bearing Option) for $1423.00 (Website Advertised Price)

Theres a few new ones for $1450. and another used one for $1250. in the classifieds.
I found mine brand new on Yellowbullet for $800.
Its the end of the season, a lot of people sell their setups and upgrade.. Keep an eye on Yellowbullet.
