408 lq9, s480 build advice
Hey guys posted this in the carb section, but probably should have posted it here.
New bloke from Australia. I've picked myself up a lq9 block and a set of ls3 heads to replace the 350 in my 1973 hq Holden. Chasing a bit of advice from the stateside gurus. My plan is to build a budget 408 stroker, using the stock ls3 heads (with upgraded springs), a s480 turbo and blow thru carb set up. What do you guys think of this plan? And do you have any recommendations on compression ratios and cam choice? Will probably run pump fuel for a start and maybe go to e85 later. Car will see very limited street use. Thanks heaps

Yeah I've got a 750 ultra go that I'll get modded for blow thru for now, then grab an e85 one later, basically wanna see how much power I can get on pump fuel to start off as I can't easily get e85 where I live

More so for simplicity, the block I bought is bare, so I'd need to buy a complete efi set up to go that way. The car already has a big bypass style fuel system in it anyway so I'll just have to swap the reg to suit boost, get the carb modified and buy a Victor junior. From what I can gather it will work out a bit cheaper too

Also could anyone suggest a good quality stroker kit for a good price. I'll be sourcing all most of my parts from the US as prices are a lot better there even with freight on top. Cheers
