This is what I'm seeing when I shoot the laser from pulley to pulley. Its 1/2 a rib off but in different directions.

Take a look at this picture:


You need to either shim out the top, or tighten up the bottom mounting point because it's obviously not square to the block and crank pulley. It took me 1-2 times to get mine setup right, but I was able to eyeball it and see that it wasn't square. It sounds and looks like the bottom of the bracket is not close enough to the block, maybe there's an issue with the tolerances of the alternator bracket that it bolts to.

I did shim out the top with to small shims which was about ,110 and it was dead on from tensioner pulley to crank but when I shot the laser from the crank back to the tensioner pulley it was off by 1 full rib.

What's on your idler pulley mine is all black yours has a silver lining on it. Is that the way the pulley came or is that a washer?

That's a washer. That pic I got from Aster's page a long time ago. I just looked at mine, and I don't have that washer on mine.

Something doesn't seem quite right... The bolt on my tensioner is literally right next to my powersteering pulley lip, there might be ~1-2mm space between them.

The picture Alchemist posted is an old one when I was first working out prototyping shortly before I found the dust cap had to be removed. The pulleys were just raw aluminum I was testing with initially.

Ill be taking off the alternator bracket to see if there's a reason its not letting my bracket align.

Did your original blower bracket come with two sets of stand offs? If so did you use the wrong combination of standoffs? I did, so the bracket didn't sit plumb to the block. Never new it until I took it off one day, never threw or shredded a belt, but I was only running the stock pulleys at the time.

Might want to check that unless the aster bracket comes with all new standoffs. Just something to check as a last resort.

Dude really eyeballing it, I'm not that good and I need mesasurements.. Anyway found out it was the round standoff (the one on the idler pulley) that was measuring 1.888 and pushing everying out of wack. I took that off and everything lined up perfect. All the pulleys!!! The only thing is that the tensioner pulley is up against the power steering pulley now and rubs. Adding shims does not make anything better because adding a shim will just throw the bottom of the bracket out and the head unit will not align with the crank and tensioner pulley up top. I bought a diffrent power steering pulley lets see if this helps.

I still havent put the belt on so I'm not sure if its going to be touching the lip of the power steering pulley when the tensioner is loaded.

Sorry to hear you're having problems, but I'm being honest when I say that when I bolted it up, I could tell that something was off on my setup due to me using a shim that I didn't need. I could feel it, that it was off when I went to tighten the bracket down.

As for the tensioner hitting the power steering pulley, yeah, it's a very close fit. I actually need to shave a few mm off the head of the bolt holding the tensioner pulley on because it's too close for my liking to the power steering pulley. Once you put the belt on, it will move the tensioner torwards the throttle body and get you some clearance.

I did... I gave you a link to the Wazee pulley (ebay) I used. Gives you about .081 of clearance... From bracket tensioner to the power steering pulley...
