Question Wastegate Size & Placement for LQ4/S475 Setup??

Hey guys, finishing up the hotside on my turbo setup. Was planning on buying a 60mm wastegate, but if I can save alittle and go smaller I am game. Planning on 9-12 psi for a street tune, 14-18 psi for drag racing (maybe twice a year).

I am on the fence on where to place the wastegate. My first thought was to place in on my Y-merge just before it enters the T6 flange (driver side turbo mounting). The Y-merge is an open design (Magnaflow) after the two sides enter the merge. This way I could vent the wastegate into the downpipe too.

My second thought was to do like KB does and place it on the outside bend of the last 90* on the crossover coming from the passenger side manifold. This type of placement will have the wastegate venting out in the open.

Thoughts and/or opinions are welcomed.

Some details of combo in sig, if more info is needed, LMK.

a single 44 will work. I would put it right off the bend that way the exhaust will naturally flow out the wg hole.

Just so I am understanding correctly, you would put it similar to the KB placement on the crossover? Thx for the reply.

Not familiar with the kb setup but if you have a 90 degree bend I would put it on the end of that for the best flow. I've seen them on crossovers and work just fine
