Boost on l33 silverado

Boost on l33 silverado Hi I have a 05 silverado. I recently found out that the engine is a 5.3 l33. I was wondering how much boost would be safe to run on it for dd?also what would be a good turbo to run? I'm asking because I herd that the have more compression. Any input helps thanks

If tune is good and good fuel 12 psi on stock engine shouldn't be a problem. The bottom end with studs and ls9 head gaskets has been pushed past 28psi. I like to see head studs past 16 psi and the ls9 gaskets past 22. Most failures with factory bottom ls engines involve pump gas 91 or 93 oct fuel.

Leave it all stock. Throw some z06 valve springs in it. you dont need gaskets or studs....Ls9 gaskets are thicker more layers. My 5.3 woth a cam and intake and valve springs makes 633whp at 13lbs thru a th400 and loose converter. It will live forever with a good tune.

That's good to hear. It's already got a tsp224r, pushrods, prc valve springs, cai , long tubes, and 42lb injectors. I'm hope to get a fast lsxrt intake soon. I'm trying to get as much information on turbo set-ups so I can start gathering up everything I need this winter...
