Default cold side piping

I have a kytp 76mm truck manifold kit i bought years ago and am just now getting ready to start my project, first thing I noticed I was shorted a piece to the cold side piping (too bad that company is not around anymore) but more importantly I noticed the cold side piping was not bead rolled. Is this common practice? should I have the piping bead rolled? If I dont will the couplers blow off under boost?

try it you might get away with it.
I have seen 21 psi with no bead rolled pipes & haven't blown one yet, but my charge pipe is very short with no 90 degree turns.

Seen people use hair spray on the pipe before they slide it into the coupler. You can make your own bead roller out of a "u style" exhaust clamp, a washer and a pair of vice grips.

Or you can make tiny slices and bend or flare the ends out.

Are those a pair of pliers that were modified? Or can you provide a link to buy a set?

If you made them, nice job. I'm thinking I can make a set from some old pliers or channel locks, but ordering some for $4 is much more simple.

Thanks

Starts life as a pair of wire crimpers (price went up, was 3.99)

take off the nose in a grinder down to the crimper parts and just clean it up so there's no sharp edges.

forearm gets a workout but its cheap.

thats really nice. Did you alter the crimp area at all or is it still the same as it comes (the shape of the crimp area)? Again, great idea!
