Thanks. If I've done my homework, it should run well. Going to be a big project. I'll be chatting with Justin and you for sure.
I may run Wed if the weather holds. Last chance of the year.

I have never understood why people think that a t6 is going to spool slow on a v8. I guess it depends on your definition of slow. To me 15 psi by 3700 rpms (like on my s480 on my 5.3) is very tolerable. Personally I want to be able to do 3000 rpms cruising without being in the boost, haha. Congrats on the results! Hopefully they let you run and you can turn it up a psi or two.

No way you're hitting 15psi at 3700rpm with a 5.3 and 96mm turbine. Its possible you have a 2 bar map sensor and your efi thinks its a 3 bar.

Still not hitting 15psi at 3700, plus wouldnt your tires be spinning by about 5psi in 1st gear?

I guess the next time I will save a log, but yes, the tires do spin. Think what you want, haha. If you are ever in Atlanta you can come see it for yourself.

Yeah a log would be great, I'd love it if you are hitting 15psi at 3700, then you could tell me your secret. Thanks

Oh and to answer your edit, it is a 3 bar map and the wastegates springs which are supposed to be 14.7 psi open a little late at 16 psi. They dump to atmosphere and you can hear them pretty plainly.

Log in this thread if I remember right. It was too fat and breaking up some, but should show how it is spooling...also has the tune.

Yeah that was the one. If you look, that was a 2nd gear I believe, but it hit around 15 psi at 3700 rpms. It was fine up until it hit that point and then it started missing really bad. I have since tuned out a lot of that by leaning out the air fuels as it comes into boost and giving it some more timing. It is spooling faster now than it was before! Car is getting better every time I take it out to tune on it.

Well did a bit more logging today. Look around 3:23. It is still going too rich and breaking up a bit, but right around 14.xx psi at 37xx-38xx rpm. This was done with the trans put in 1st gear manually. My tach agrees. I have not yet hooked up an auxiliary boost gauge though to verify map.

Edit: I realized part of my problem with the breaking up...I still had a bit of a JUMP in the VE table numbers after 3600 rpms. That is probably why it is breaking up so bad. I have knocked those down a good bit and hopefully it will be a bit better. I was quite honestly scared to go over 60% throttle with the roads a bit wet still. This thing does not have the stickiest of tires yet and likes to break the tires loose pretty easy.

End thread hijack. Sorry OP. But these turbos ARE amazing and I have always liked and used Borgs for the past 10 years. Previously on 4 bangers and now getting a big boy turbo to go on this little LS motor. I have not been disappointed in any way, shape or form. The larger Borg units like this one put together by Jose at Forced Inductions has been great.

There was another guy on here hitting 13 psi with the same turbine and compressor on a 6.0 motor by 3200 rpms on the street. Makes for a fun ride for sure!

I'm about to start a similar project. By all stock, you mean completely stock? no valve springs, injectors, nothing? Just a stock engine with the turbo kit added? What are you using to tune it? Thanks and congrats it seems like its working good for ya.

It's a turbo 400 trans....The first time on dyno it had z06 valve springs and 80 lb injectors. Other then that it was completely stock. Made 548whp. It's tuned using Eli live on the stock Ecu. This was 2 yesrs ago now it has a cam intake and better springs its making 633whp and I'm positive the hp # would be higher if i had a tighter converter. It has a 200 dollar B&M converter that was put into the car 14 years ago. It flashes the converter really bad. My buddies car with the same setup did 670 at 13lbs. He has a billet converter
