YOu might be ok on a stock tune (timing) with 5psi but I doubt it. You are gonna have to tune for the injectors for SURE. Get that done and you can drive around at least. HPtuner should do it all for ya.

ok will stock injectors work for now or is that a big NO NO? and when you say timing are you talkin it will be to far advanced? At first on the 5 lbs I plan in just driving it normal and gettin the lil bugs worked out of it. I have the innovative motorsports wideband so i can keep an eye on the A/F

yes timing may be a tick too advanced. If you are just going to drive it and not WOT it for a bit, stock tune/injectors will work...you won't even know the turbo is there.

You are definitely going to be out of a stock injector pretty early. I had 36 lb injectors with my 6 psi powerdyne setup (non-intercooled) and I hit 100% duty cylce at about 5800 rpms. I had a walbro pump in tank, too.

As far as software, I would definitely give HPTuner a try. I have LS1-Edit because it was the only thing out when I bought it. Don't go cheap on tuning or fuel system, it will just cost you more in the long run.

Click on the button on the right--->

www.hptuners.com

I am uncomfortable when folks try to drive on a stock tune.

In short, we won't reccomend it because if you get on it once you might pop a head gasket. Remember even part throttle timing might be too aggressive if your fuel system is not adequate.

I'd get the tuning 'ware and then start to tweak it and drive it, unless someone on here has personal experience.

from what i can tell the hp tuner stuff is fairly complex and looks as if it should be able to control everything that i need, am i right?

It is pretty straightforward and comprehensive.

I'd just prefer that you scale the timing back and keep 'er on the safe side.

It only take one instance of jumping on the gas and going 17:1 for a while to hurt a headgasket or a piston.
