Good motor wrong turbo.
I am sure it has been done before but I wouldn't advise it, you can make anything work. However I would go with a PT78 and call it a day. Pictures would help you get more responses. Best of luck and welcome to the forums.

Light truck diesel turbos won't work as a single...maybe as twins.
I had a Cat C15 (15 liter) turbo on my 5.3 for awhile. Basically a BW S400 with a huge 1.58 A/R on the hot side.

i've worked with plenty of diesel turbos, on diesels, and i wouldnt use any light duty truck turbo on a gas engine. like said, medium and heavy duty truck engines have turbos closer to the size you would want. i regret getting rid of all my TV7512s that i used to have.

a guy here has 2 hx35's(off 1st and 2nd gen dodge) on his car running 9.40.. And im not sure if most of you guys realize almost all the turbos we are using were designed for diesels. Do you really believe these companies would make all these turbos we use just for the limited aftermarket. Im just saying.
