Default Header question?

For a lsx 427 TT build making around 1kwhp would 1 3/4" primary 3" collector's hurt the power Vs 1 7/8" x 3" ??

^ This is correct. You will actually want to keep the exhaust side somewhat small, as part of what helps spool a turbo is the exhaust gasses expanding in the exhaust housing. If the pipes are too big before the housing, the gasses will expand and cool and lose some of that exhaust pressure. Most have good success with around 2-1/2". What size turbos are you running, and what a/r exhaust side?

Smaller on the heades and collector, but bigger on the turbos for max efficiency with a 427.

Id go bigger on the turbos as well. Those 67's on a 427 is like a light switch.

Everyone around here last time i ask about turbo sizing all said the 6767 would work great and spool quickly! I dont have them yet anyways but i dont want to make it to laggy with bigger units plus i want the units as compact as possible for placement.

I just ordered twin precision journal bearing 7675s to go onto a 425 LSX and I'll use 2.5 in stainless to feed them.

What power level you shooting for with them? And i think thye Jb are rated somewhat lower than the DBB units i think the 67's are like 935hp vs 770hp.

1200-1400 at the wheel, it will be backed up by a 4L80e. Goal is to make it very streetable on e85 and a relatively tight converter.
Even in you go 67s because of packaging, I'd go bigger a/r to 1+ if possible. I think your gonna have 10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag.

There seems to be plenty of guys running a similar combo making 1200hp at fairly low boost so i dont understand why you feel they are way to small for a 427. I think those bigger turbo's are going to be sluggish even with a tight converter which is something i dont want i want a quick spool.

The 67's will definately spool quick! They will be fine.

The last time i was asking about turbos some said use 76's most said 67's work well and some said GT35's which i think are even smaller and have basiclly no lag and the power comes in violent! I will check on some bigger exhaust housings or step up a little when the time comes just wanted to make sure 1 3/4" primary's would be alright to run!
