I have read it in this very forum, same issues. Guys still bolt it on. My thought on that is simply a lack of cost effective solutions. The Edelbrock just looks weird. Fabricated tunnel rams are way too expensive. That leaves the Holley. I have been researching casting costs for my design. To me there is a market wide open for a low cost ram intake. CNC'ed everything is expensive and cast is the way to go for some of the components. Pretty serious. I need my machine shop to make me more seed money.

I checked with Brian Tooly about Holley ram intakes because he does porting and sells intakes and here is the answer I got from Allen at BT:

"They have had alignment issues in the past and had to be worked to make them line up. "

Not sure if this is already resolved on newer intakes or not. Can anyone confirm?

Did you make the carbon fiber hat as well? If so, is there a rolled lip or edge on it to hold a coupler?

How many layers of fiber? How thick is it and do you think there is any issue with holding boost?
