Default input on a ptc convertor ??

Just wondering who's running a th400 ptc convertor and how they like it ?
It seems to be the best bang for buck I can find and I can't bring myself to spend $700+ for a convertor to put behind a $400 motor with a $250 turbo.

Also does any one know who makes an affordable lock up convertor for a 4l60 for boost ? Or how bad my freeway gas mileage will get with a non lockup convertor.

any help would be appreciated, I'm just looking for some thing that works that won't cost me a fortune.

I got one in my car. First build i did i kinda underestimated the power and torque it was going to make and not sure what happened on their end, but it stalled 1000-1200 rpm higher than i wanted. Ran it out that season and restalled over winter. Spot on

Rebuilt motor bottom and did a new setup. Pushed rpm band up and the converter stalled too low now due to shift in torque so i had them restall back to first spec. Its spot on exactly where i wanted it.

They are pricey but its well worth it. Drives incredibly smooth and tight off boost but really opens when required. You want a strong reliable drivetrain and it starts with a good converter. There are alot of guys on turboforum running ptc

Best 1000 bucks I spent on my car. Spool up went from 4.8 second 0-13psi on the brake with my ATI to 1.3 with my new PTC. Not to mention awesome customer service. Give them a call

PTC converter worked for me since 2007. I think recently it might have started slipping a little but for $400 it has done its work. It still runs low to mid tens!

Depends how high you spin the engine too. The $400 10" converter will couple pretty good on the big end if you rev the motor out to 7k+. They suggest a 9.5" custom unit if your not redline is "stockish" or under. Those converters run $950 + shipping. I see around 4-5% slippage at 5800ish rpm trapping 153.
