Default Oil residue in intake ports?

Starting my LQ4 turbo build and when I pulled the heads and was starting to clean them up I noticed oil residue in the intake ports. Odd thing is the pattern it left, not complete coverage, almost like it had been sprayed in. Very consistent pattern on every port. Any thoughts and should I be concerned before I put them on?

Thats the fuel "cleaning" that particular area. Clean the runners, put breathers on the valve covers and eliminate all PCV going into the intake to prevent the oiling. Also put in good gas from Top Tier gas stations. Unless you're going E85 or race gas.

Yup. PCV systems are unnecessary and only oil up the top end.

Run a catch can on your PCV system and keep it intact. JMO.

Delete PCV for best results. Mine will be lines from valve covers to a vented catch can up front.
