Default S480 t4 vs pt7675

Witch turbo do you guys think would work better on my set up that I already have 2005 5.3, victor jr, tu1 cam, 317 heads, 4l80e, running e85, 160lb injectors and triple 255 pumps I was thinking a billet s480 88/96mm with a t4 1.10ar or a billet pt7675 thanks...

Borg Warner turbos are proven time and time again ,I also hear of good customer advice from forced inductions. I would give them a call and talk t them about their billet s476. It's making more power than the s480 but also cost about 500-600 more at 1500ish

When referring to a S480 there are actually quite a few choices, so without knowing the actual turbo, it is hard to compare.
A T4 flanged S480 comes with an 83mm turbine wheel (Inducer) or you can get it with an 87 or 92mm (Inducer) turbine wheel as well.

Note that BW uses Inducer (larger part of the turbine wheel) for their measurements where as others like Precision and Turbonetics use the smaller Exducer.

Therefore if you are comparing a Standard T4 S400 with the 83mm turbine wheel to a PT7675, the 7675 actually has very similar wheels. (PTE 82 Inducer / 75 Exducer on the Turbine opposed to BW 83 on the Inducer and 74 Exducer on the S400)

The BW will have the larger housings however and the 4" exit opposed to the 3", but something to consider. Because the BW states an 83mm turbine wheel doesn't mean its larger as they give you a different measurement.

I thought I seen forced inductions come out with a new exhaust housing allowing you to run a 1.10 ar.. On a standard s480/475 keeping there 88/96 exhaust wheels

I would prob go with the billet BW 76/92/T4 0r 76/96/T4 over the S480. Both would be nasty on a 5.3L.

Yes, but now you are talking about the T6 Borg Warner. The T4's come with a 83mm wheel, or you can get an 87 or 92. The 96mm is the T6 frame, and remember that the 96mm number is the Inducer number from BW, not the Exducer.

You can get the 96x88 wheel in the T4 Housings now. Mine is on order with the T4 1.0 a/r housing right now.

Yes, but that is with modifications and up charges as it is not a standard turbo from BW. We offer the full line of Stock BW and modified BW's from FI, love them all! Just wanting to bring attention to everyone that not to get so hung up on the larger turbine wheel dimension they give you, as they advertise them differently. All good turbos, just helping inform!

Do you have any space constraints in the engine bay, and/or what OEM features are you wanting to retain with the turbo kit? This will also help the decision as well as the BW vs the PT both package differently.
