I went with the F-body oil pan. So far it hasn't kissed the ground. lol The picture in my sig is probably the best but I do have more. I've got a build thread on Hybridz with more pics titled: 1978 280z 5.3/A4 project. Youtube vid also under channel Kbern88.

I'd also be interested in some pics of your rear setup and where you purchased the parts. It's about the cleanest I've seen. My R200 is doing ok for now but I'm about to add a turbo also so I'll probably end up chucking an axle.

I had the LS1 pan originally but it hung a little low for my taste. The LS2/3 is a great option. If I remember correctly it is almost 2" shorter than the LS1

I believe 06-10/12 vettes. There are plenty of them out there. One thing to be aware of is that if you are running JCI mounts you will have to lift the motor to get the pan on where as the LS1 you can pull it on and off without having to lift the motor. 1 BADAS Z (5.3 BW480 billet 280z build)-image-165426192.jpg

Its only 1" shorter. Its thicker at the front than the F body pan, but still works with the JCI mounts - if you're using them.

I put one on my car last year.

Bought it here:

Are you still running it? I often worry about starving my motor of oil with the decreased capacity of the LS3 pan and twin turbos/lines.

Finally had time to get back on the Turbo Turd. Bent up a cage for it and fabbed and welded in mini tubs. Starting to come together, hoping my swing out door bar kit comes in. Next week end is chassis certification at local track. Would like to have it inspected if my side bar kit comes in.

Got a little done tonight. Welded in the rest of the cage and hung rear end on the car to let it down and make sure my anti Roll bar wasn't going to hit my floor
When it travels upward. Hopefully tomorrow I can undercoat everything and put it back together for the final time. Soooooooo ready to fab up turbo kit.

Little shot of it on the ground. Still need to lower front of car.

Have any of you done the 5 lug front conversion? I really want to just rip everything out the from to build a a arm front end. I hate the way the front tires don't tuck in on the front. They are almost flush with fender.

I think about it everyday. It's obviously going to be a dedicated strait line car so I say go for it.

I'm running truck manifolds flipped forward. I have this 5.3 and 7875 precion turbo. So I will build it with these parts for now. Shake it down with these and then may end up with lq4 and S480 and air to water

As am I, I screwed up though and went with 3" pipe coming off of the manifolds.. I order a set of 2.5 reducers so well see if I can make it work. I'd really like to get my hands on a set of 2.25-2.5 true turbo manifolds but I don't trust my fabrication skills to build a dedicated set.

For the next set ill likely buy a set of C6 manifolds and go 2.25 all the way to the turbos. Not sure if you've seen them but they point up and forward plus they are identical. They would be perfect for my twin setup as I'll be running 3" DP's under them and out back.
