Should I loose the FAST?
I am building a forged bottom end LS1 with a s475. Typical build, nothing special. My question is this:
IF you guys were going from NA to turbo and already had a Vengeance Ported FAST 102 with NW 102 tb, would you swap it out for a Pro-Flo/Holley Hi-Ram? I have no qualms with cutting the car to fit one.
I know I could likely make a couple bucks from selling it and swapping to a tunnel ram. However, that really has no sway in my decision. I don't care about that.
I am just curious if there would be a power gain, maybe a little better transient response or something.
I am curious if the curvature of the FAST's runners becomes less of hindrance when it is seeing boost.
What do you guys think? I haven't really given it much thought until now, so it is all hypothetical at this point.

Your going to have some people say keep it and some say sell it. I had a 92/92 combo before I decided to go FI and I decided to sell it becuase I didn't want to risk destroying it and being out all that cash. The fast intakes apparently don't hold up to boost very well.

I know a few people have had problems with their 102's sealing in the begining. But wasn't that just for like the first couple production runs? Like first generation stuff?
I always thought it was the 90-92mm stuff that didn't like the boost. Either way it looks like I am going to end up changing.
Even though the RPM range is well within the FAST's operating range, almost everyone I have talked to said swap them.

Were they running burst panels? I know I've seen them not save the intake on a nitrous backfire. FAST was detonated and the burst panel was still intact.

With the stock ls1 and ls6 intakes being well proven on here well into the single digits, why not sell the FAST for one of them? Extra money in your pocket and no need to cut into the car. Double win there.

****, now I hear this... I'm running 17+ psi with a FAST 90.
So do I go to a LS6, or what other options are there that allows me to keep my windshield wipers and doesn't cost $2000+?

Im not real familiar with the high rams but with the cobras that style intake really hurts low end power for street cars. Many guys pick up 100+rwhp/tq in the mid range by putting stock intake manifolds back on the car. If its under 1,000hp id go with an ls6 intake personally.
