One more question; would you suggest replacing the bearings?

I live in Columbia City 73turbo53. There isn't a single station her that sells it. I know there are in Fort Wayne near where Chris lives, but it's more than that. I like to drive the car on the street quite a bit. I drive to work down in Peru with the car and I make trips to Muncie on top of just doing random road trips. For the lousy mileage E85 yields and the fact that most stations do not have it (there isn't a single one on my way to work, and it would drink more than a full tank to get there and come home). It just doesn't make any sense to do E85 for me without sacrificing what I want out of it (to not be restricted on where I drive).

I'll be staying with pump gas and meth injection + intercooling.

I know Chris's setup. It's an awesome truck and he pushes it way harder than I ever would my car. But he also has gone through at least one 5.3 before also. If I need to dial back the boost to keep it safer on the fuel I plan on running, I will.

I think the reliability is in the tune.
500 hp with a **** tune will pop, while others make 800 plus and last forever with a great tune.
That t56 is going **** you off after it breaks a few times and you have to shell out the money to rebuild it. They're a lot of fun but it'll end up being the weak link unless you spend some serious money to upgrade it enough to handle the power you're trying to make

For the money, the Huron Speed kit seems to fit the bill. Grab a truck manifold kit and be done with her!

I stand corrected! For some reason I thought it was more severe.

The T-56 was already rebuilt last year with all the Viper internals. It should handle way more than the power we are talking about here.

I already have a source than can get me a low mileage L33 shipped to my door for less than $1k.

What kind of hp are we talking for "reliability" with a lm7 boosted if had forged rods and pistons with a stock crank?

Whatever the stock crank can take. Probably ~1300 HP reliable.

As part of your budget minded build are you planning to build your own hotside setup?

Other than talk, it's not going anywhere fast. I wanted to be doing this, this year, but due to spending my funds in a pole barn this year instead, I won't be doing much of anything until fall at the earliest.
