60's are in.......idling fine......not completely tuned yet.....

Here is the problem......

They got the pin kit on the crank pulleys, so my worries from that are now over......

But at 4000rpms there is a really bad vibration coming from the blower, its causing the motor to actually slow down, like something is dragging it, its causing the COG belt to ride awkard on the pulley.......so the blower is getting pulled off, they found a chipped impeller tooth, this blower is basically brand new, hasn't been run that hard yet, haven't had a chance to.......

This is probably what caused the car to throw the P1336 code with the crank relearn deal.......

So its going to get sent into ATI and hopefully they will cover it under warranty.........

Yea......

Jeremy if you read this, did you get any vibration issues w/your COG setup?

Tom PMed me and both him and mark with the 408 setup are in the same boat as me........

The 60's could still be yours if this doesn't workout

They might be, I didn't ask, but they are having vibration problems, I just hope it can get take care of so I can drive the car in the next week or so, they made some 4K blasts on the street with autotap, the belt was holding fine, just need to get the vibration straightened out.....

a broken blade on the impeller will vibrate pretty good.

Either the bearing went bad and one of the blades hit the housing oe something went through there - how big of a chunk is missing?

Its probably a small crumb size piece off the edge, probably a centimeter, I'll have to take a look at it when I see it.......

Hopefully its the culprit, all else seems to be good FOR NOW.......This blower probably has 500 miles on it, Sikora mentioned it seemed harder to turn than the other blowers he has seen, so maybe it could be a bearing as well.......

that sucks, the way you describe it lugging the engine down at higher rpm sounds like a bearing. I assume with the blower belt off it doesnt vibrate?

Correct, what would cause a bearing to go bad?

Bos, hate to muddy the waters. It test drove mine a couple miles tonight. Something vibrates the hell out of the car at around 3000 RPMS for me. You can feel it all the way up to the stick shift. I figured it's the blower belt trying to jump off since I have not secured it yet. Didn't have time to really look into it tonight was working on someone elses car. It will have to wait to the weekend.

Mark.....I posted some more pics of the car tonight if your interested!

ATIs have some pretty big bearings, most obvious would be over tension but sometimes they just go - usually not in 500 miles though. There may be nothing wrong with it, that small of a chip shouldnt make it vibrate that bad, drain the oil and see what it looks like, its normal to have some fine shavings in the oil but if you see some bigger chunks something is wrong.

usually too much tension from the belt causes premature wear on the bearings, ATI could tell to eat that, be prepared for that.

Mine looked like it was going to twist the supercharger and alternater off the car when it does the vibration. Also on mine the shaft the supercharger pulley mounts to will move outward/towards the alternator about a 1/4 of a inch when the vibration starts and then pops back in to normal position. The movement outward could be what caused BigBos blade to chip due to it making contact with the inside of the housing. Thought mine was the only one with this problem until this week, guess the cogs need more R&D.

No vibration on mine, it ran up the rpm's real smooth on the dyno and at the track. When the belt let go, the car just lost its speed at the 2-3 shift. Maybe this was the reason why you were having so many problems with your pulley set ups, the blower was out of balance or something of that nature. I did get a bad vibration when I first put the cogs on. That is when the s/c cog rubbed the alternator pulley when I got on it. The car vibrated real bad when that happened.

Also......now that I think of it......that bad vibration you are describing could be the belt skipping teeth, I felt that all the way into the cabin when that happened, it felt like the blower pulley hitting the alternator pulley like it would back w/my 8 rib setup originally w/no bracket support....
