Tranny cooler suggestions ?
I have a 67' Chevelle that I am almost ready to fire up.
It has a 370 LS with a TH400 and a transbrake.
What cooler and lines would be the best?
I am thinking of running -6 steel braided Fragola ptfe for hose since that is what I used on my fuel system.
Should I mount it up front? Or should I mount it in back somewhere ?
I am going to drive it for a few weeks N/A and then I have a S88 turbo that will be getting installed (by me)
I really need to start a build thread. Lol

In my car and my brother's we run the 47391 tru-cool. We both have a rmvb th400 and street driving in stop and go traffic with 3,600+ stalls with over 100* heat they never get over 180ish. I don't think they have ever gotten over 170 at the track but we don't hot lap either.

B&M makes a nice fan cooled unit that can be a little pricey, but it does work and will mount almost anywhere. I went with a plain jane 20,000btu tru cool and mounted it in a fresh air stream area. i dont see how the fan will do more than a 150mph wind. but for stalling at the light and slow traffics situations it may have some more benefit. not a whole lot of technical data on this to my knowledge.

I have a derale 13960, $250 but i didnt want trans temp issues. Has an inline sensor so the fan comes on at 180 degrees.I used hard line out of the trans due to 80e tunnel clearance to under the trans pan and then 5/16 to -6an adapters and braided line the rest of the way to the cooler.

The only down side to running that cooler would be that you would need to do away with A/C to run it..... unless you want to make mounting points and move it way up into the bumper.
